The Pre-School ministry continues into its 34th year at Mooreland United Methodist Church and celebrates
the opportunities each child brings into our midst. In a Christian enviroment, each child is encouraged and loved for his
individuality.
Discovery Depot Pre-School opened its doors back in 1974 under the direction of Sue Grice, Helen Holloway
& Jeanne Gafford. The First United Methodist Church Board voted on having a program that offered a high quality Christian
Day Care and Pre-School, and open it up to the Mooreland Community. Many faces have had a hand in the success of Discovery
Depot Pre-School. And now 34 years later the Pre-School is still going strong with the help of Teacher's Amy Anderson
& Errin Spencer.
Discovery Depot has hosted several fund-raisers throughout the year and eagerly participates in community
activities such as our local fairs and parades. Currently we are offering a class for three & four year old children,
3 days a week. This year we are focusing on colors, the alphabet, singing, to recognize various animals, sharing, story telling,
coordination, understanding and accepting our differences, manual dexterity, and playing games. The children enjoy many field
trips and parental assistance is always readily available.
